I love being entertained, and I'm fortunate to live in a city with such exciting and inspiring things to see all the time. My wonderful boyfriend surprised me with both of these shows recently (he's a keeper!), and I wanted to share. Enjoy!

Note -- I don't think Todd really expected to enjoy Jersey Boys... he did it for me. Well, he LOVED it. We are still talking about it and playing the soundtrack constantly. He had plenty of praise afterwards but I specifically remember him saying "the pace was absolutely stellar." You have NO idea how grateful I am to have found a man who can appreciate theatre! I thank my lucky stars every day!

Found in a little store in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I grew up on a street named after Gone with the Wind, so it's twice as nice!

Update on the house

I painted the dining room a color called "Ocean" to match the slate in the middle of the table. I shouldn't really say room.. It's not a separate room, in fact the front door is just to the right of this pic. The table is the first thing you see when you walk in so it has to look nice!

Also, some lovely peach trees are blooming in the yard.

My boyfriend bought a house in September and I've spent the past 4 months trying to make it warm and cozy. We each had about 2 suitcases when we moved in, so it's been a LOT of work creating a home from basically nothing. That was the fun of it though!

I never thought I'd have much fun with this kind of thing but it's been such a great ride. I feel like I could have my own HGTV show at this point. Creating these spaces forced me to think about color and design on a different level than what I'm used to; it sounds strange but I believe it's helped me as a painter as well.

Well hello there... Here are a few things I've been working on recently.

The painting of Bethany was my first experiment mixing wax with oil paint; I had fun with that and will probably use it a LOT in the future. Thanks for the tip, Francis!

The second and third pieces I have no idea... I wanted to do a portrait of Springsteen but I still have a bit of work to do on that. The other one was just out of my head for kicks one night but it started heading in an interesting direction so I'll keep working on it.

Then last but not least are little sneak peeks at my very own tribute to the Beatles!! I JUST started this but I plan to put a lot of love into this one!
